Derwent Inktense Pencils provide a unique drawing and painterly experience. Their core is pigment-based and extremely soluble in water, but unlike watercolour pencils, when you add water the core transforms to an ink-like wash. Once the wash dries, it is permanent and cannot be rewetted.

Ideal for layering, Derwent Inktense Pencils are highly pigmented and are bright, vibrant colours. Easily create transparent washes by adding water and simply adjust the amount of water to producing varying dark to light tones. These pencils can even be used on fabric!
